Why TKE Driver Training Wins the Comparison

Purpose-built for driver training

Many CAN-data-based apps, such as RealDash or Torque Pro, are designed for enthusiasts and general telemetry. TKE Driver Training, on the other hand, is engineered specifically for professional training environments – considering the trainer’s needs, data reliability, and the demands of a real-world training setting.

Real-time, error-free dashboard data

TKE Driver Training leverages TK Engineering’s deep expertise in CAN technology and Kvaser hardware. Data is pulled directly from the vehicle’s CAN bus without delays, errors, or dropouts. This means both trainer and trainee see exactly the same information at exactly the same time.

Customizable interface and analytics

Off-the-shelf hobbyist tools display fixed dashboards that can’t be adjusted. TKE Driver Training’s interface is tailored to your needs: display only the gauges, alerts, and KPIs that matter most for your training scenarios. All data is logged for later analysis and debriefing.

A reliable partner with expert support

TK Engineering is a Finnish company with decades of experience in CAN and telematics solutions for heavy-duty vehicles. As part of our international customer base, you get direct access to the developers, fast technical support, and long-term collaboration – unlike mass-market international tools, where support may be fragmented and slow.

  • TKE Driver Training – When Driver Training Can’t Afford Guesswork

Professional driver education demands precision, real-time feedback, and reliable performance data. There are a few products on the market that claim to bring dashboard data to a tablet, but when you look at the complete package – accuracy, reliability, and practical benefit –TKE Driver Training stands out as virtually the only full-featured option

Comparison – Why Others Fall Short

If you want a solution that works flawlessly in every training session, displays dashboard data exactly in real time, is built for driver education, and comes from a trusted CAN technology specialist, TKE Driver Training is your only real option.

And the Technology behind ?

TKE Driver Training is not just an app – it’s a fully engineered CAN bus data acquisition and visualization solution built to perform flawlessly in real-world driver training conditions.

Using Kvaser CAN hardware combined with TK Engineering’s wireless CAN data transmission and custom Android tablet interface, the system streams live dashboard data directly from the vehicle to the trainer’s display – with zero perceptible delay. Connection to the CAN bus is done via the trucks BodyBuilder (BBM) or Fleet Management Services (FMS) module. The data is transferred to the tablet application using a Kvaser BlackBird CAN interface.

TKE Driver Training

Direct CAN Bus Integration

Connection: The Kvaser CAN interface connects directly to the vehicle’s diagnostic or service port (standard OBD-II, J1939, or manufacturer-specific CAN connector).

Signal Access: Reads raw CAN messages directly from the vehicle’s electronic control units (ECUs) without third-party interpretation layers, ensuring 100% data fidelity

Wireless Data Transmission

Technology: Uses TKE’s proven Bluetooth or Wi-Fi wireless module to transmit real-time CAN data from the Kvaser unit to an Android tablet.

Performance: Ultra-low latency and error-free streaming – the trainer sees exactly what the driver’s dashboard shows in real time.

Range: Optimized for training environments – stable connection even in large test yards or off-road driver courses.

Data Logging & Post-Session Analysis

Complete Session Capture: Every metric is logged and timestamped for after-drive debriefing.

Performance Review: Trainers can show exact instances of optimal or poor driving behavior, making coaching concrete and data-driven.

Long-Term Tracking: Compare progress over multiple sessions to assess training effectiveness.

Built for Heavy-Duty & Specialty Vehicles

Works seamlessly with trucks, buses, construction machinery, and special-purpose vehicles.

Proven reliability in extreme training conditions – from urban test routes to challenging off-road courses.

Developed and supported by TK Engineering, a leader in CAN bus solutions for the Nordic heavy-vehicle industry.

Customizable Real-Time Dashboards

Tailored Views: Trainers can select exactly which KPIs matter – speed, RPM, torque, brake pressure, fuel consumption, regenerative braking usage, or any other CAN-available metric.

Training Modes: Configure different dashboards for different course modules (eco-driving, heavy-load handling, off-road maneuvers).

Instant Alerts: Visual indicators warn of over-revving, hard braking, or excessive fuel consumption, allowing immediate corrective feedback.
