Internet of Things

What is Internet of Things?

Internet of Things also known as the IoT is a system of intelligent and embedded devices which can communicate. These physical devices are connected to remote server over internet or company internal network. The IoT environment collects information for example mobile machines, passive devices, manuals, configurations, users and their observations and it enables quick data retrieval between different user group levels via embedded devices.

Industry 4.0 – The fourth wave of the industrial revolution

Advancing IoT innovations that keep us connected and the number of internet-connected things is growing year by year. Manufacturers across the globe are gradually adopting smart factory solutions that include the latest technological innovations in IoT. Significant advancements in sensor technology and data gathering processes have enabled the spread of data analytics to create innovative business models for all industries.

Advancing IoT innovations helps intelligent decision making

With help of IoT seamless communication is possible between people, processes, and things. Production-line monitoring enables proactive maintenance on manufacturing and processes. With help of sensor alerts, manufacturers can quickly check equipment for accuracy or remove it from production until it is repaired. The core idea of Industrial Internet (IIoT) is to utilize Internet of Things (IoT) based technologies and applications for the purpose of enhanced operations productivity and intelligent decision making.

Collaboration between active and passive things

Machine-to-machine (M2M) connections occur when data is transferred from one machine or ‘thing’ to another over a network. Sensors convert physical aspects of our environment into electrical signals that can be processed by computers. M2M is just one part of the Internet of Everything because we are moving further away from the passive approach to a far more active one. Indeed person-to-person (P2P) and person-to-machine (P2M) connections have become increasingly important. People not only play an essential role in communication, but they may also become actively connected themselves.
